Alder Concrete Group is looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our growing team. Reporting directly to the Controller, the Accounting Clerk will be responsible for supporting a variety of accounting and administrative functions. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Full cycle accounts payable, including invoice processing, coding, matching and data entry
  • Review and verify invoices for accuracy, completeness, and appropriate approvals
  • Process cheque runs, ensuring timely payments
  • Correspond with and respond to vendor inquiries
  • Maintain an accurate and organized filing system
  • Perform journal entries and other accounting activities
  • Miscellaneous reporting and account reconciliations
  • Support month-end processes
  • Responsible for the day-to-day clerical duties
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communications skills (written/verbal) and ability to work effectively with all levels of management, staff, and vendors
  • Previous experience in an accounting role with payables and receivables is preferred
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work with high-volume cycles and deadlines in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Proficient in data entry
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and as part of a team
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Knowledge of Jonas is an asset
