Alder Concrete Group is looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our growing team. Reporting directly to the Controller, the Accounting Clerk will be responsible for supporting a variety of accounting and administrative functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full cycle accounts payable, including invoice processing, coding, matching and data entry
- Review and verify invoices for accuracy, completeness, and appropriate approvals
- Process cheque runs, ensuring timely payments
- Correspond with and respond to vendor inquiries
- Maintain an accurate and organized filing system
- Perform journal entries and other accounting activities
- Miscellaneous reporting and account reconciliations
- Support month-end processes
- Responsible for the day-to-day clerical duties
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Excellent communications skills (written/verbal) and ability to work effectively with all levels of management, staff, and vendors
- Previous experience in an accounting role with payables and receivables is preferred
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work with high-volume cycles and deadlines in a fast paced, dynamic environment
- Proficient in data entry
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and as part of a team
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Maintain confidentiality
- Knowledge of Jonas is an asset
